I was looking up card text for a review I'm writing, and came across an odd error when using the "Text on Miniature" box with the card search.
If you input the word " can't
" you get 35 hits, but it also misses almost as many - 29, to be exact. To get those to come up, you have to input " can’t
" into that search box instead.
The problem with those missing items is that when they were entered into the system, the word can't was written using what Windows Character Map refers to as an "Acute Accent" rather than an apostrophe. The difference is almost unnoticeable to the naked eye ( ’ vs ' ), but it's just enough to trip up the search function - it's almost like replacing a capital letter O with the number 0.
That particular accent doesn't even appear on a standard (US) QWERTY keyboard, so to use it you have to either copy & paste it from somewhere else, or use the ALT+0180 keypad combination.
29 items appear to be affected - the majority are from the PotC set, but there are a handful from other sets as well. Copy and paste this " can’t " into the search box to get the list, or type it in with an apostrophe to see the items that aren't affected.
A correction would be much appreciated. Thank you.
