No, though I did send him an email or two some time ago and contacted his Pojo profile (some people dig for gold, I usually dig for information). It would seem like he is gone for good, but his profile suggests otherwise, as I remember from awhile back. Surprised It's crazy how many little mysteries and inside information type stuff there is for a game that is so long out of print and with such a small online community. Smile Certainly keeps me busy and interested when I can afford to look into things. Cool

No, I was referring to getting some "leads" if you will. Wink

Most intriguing. Leads to what, the fabled pirate ship of gold? Very Happy

Nope, hint was already in the comment. Cool Nothing exciting I don't think.

The Barracuda's picture in the database was that of a 3 segment sub, so I've updated with the right submarine. Poor Barracuda was probably sad! XD Not a bad little sub either heh.

Here's some pictures from I game I lost my notes to... it took place late June. Wifey was running a mixed fleet and I had put a few American ships together for the giggles.

The game sort of illustrates why I'm partial to playing to the last coin. While it was a safe assumption that her (much) faster fleet had a decided gold edge on me (full disclosure, she won handily on gold), the final battle was so worth the wait.

Wifey's first two ships, the Neptune's Hoard and the Viper's Bite so badly outpaced her other two that she split her fleet in pursuit of my ships, who were ferrying the last coins home.

A defiant stand by the USS Aaron Burr allowed me to sneak the Concord home, and derelict her faster ships before reinforcements could arrive!

Again, wifey took the game, but the final combat was as thrilling as any moment I've had in the game.

A project of mine has been to put together an excel document with all the ships from each set listed. I learned a lot from compiling all the ship names and I am happy how my spreadsheet turned out. It is basically a glorified checklist like the ones we get in the packs. There are much more thorough spreadsheets on BGG but I wanted to have a simple version that I can customize as well as analyze my collection with.

Anyway I thought I would share this random project of mine and offer the basic template to anyone who is interested. I can edit this later with a link if people are interested in it.

One useful thing I immediately got out of doing this was it showed me where the bulk of my collection is from and what sets I should invest in. Perhaps some of you would also find this useful.

Working on a project and couldn't help but repost this picture from my 2013 Century of the Empires game...

The carnage of a naval battle, with the Constitution on fire.

You know you have extreme carnage when there are masts and debris sitting on top of other masts and debris. Along with the smoke pouring from the Constitution, I love how it looks with the two huge mainmasts recently toppled over the sides of the big ships.

My newest 10 master, this one came from an eBay lot with some defects.

Notice the light on the mast just beyond the 3 big ones (the lot didn't come with the rest of the broken mast; it's gone). You might be able to just glimpse the crack that appears on the starboard hull where the quarterdeck connects to the rest of the ship. (just above and to the right of the name)

My current jury-rig setup has the 5th mast of an incomplete Divine Dragon that I recently got in a random bag of incomplete stuff from selvaxri. Cheap sourcing at its finest. XD But really, I think it works quite well since the masts are almost the same size. I simply cut off the bottom tab of the new mast and used a tiny sliver of clear tape on either side to attach it to the original 3S stub. I even switched the location of the broken mast to the other side of the ship so the light from the DD mast wouldn't be as obvious, to make the ship look more like the Guichuan. In the future I will probably black out the 4S marking so it doesn't look like the ship has 11 cannons and/or glue the pieces together instead of the tape. However, for a ship broken in multiple areas she looks almost good as new already!

I partially fixed the starboard hull crack by taking out that deck part and reattaching it to the port side, which made the starboard side fit better so it's almost not visible. That is more likely to be glued at some point than the broken mast, to provide better structural integrity.

Took a few minutes, but not bad for a bargain Guichuan! XD

All five of my 10 masters together for the first time, with much mingling and exchanging of pleasantries.
But how long will that last??

Of course, once the sun sets, only one ship stands out from the crowd....
