After several months not picking up a book for fun, I decided to dive back into my first Sci-fi love, Star Trek, and finally tackle the Destiny Trilogy and the Typhon Pact series. The Destiny books were a thing of beauty and ultimate fandom for a Trekkie like me. I'm 3 books into the Typhon Pact series, and although not as mind blowing as Destiny, is still fun and good reads.

I also just picked up Neil Degrasse Tyson's new book, Accessory to War, which I plan to start soon.

Just finished up the excellent "Leviathan Wakes" by James S.A. Corey, and will be starting the follow-up book "Caliban's War" as soon as it gets returned to our local library by whomever has it currently checked out.

I'd been watching The Expanse on Syfy/Amazon Prime and loved it, but it's currently on hiatus between seasons. I wanted more, and this series of books is what the show is directly based on. The first season plus a few episodes covers the first book, then continues into the second and third.
Just last night I finished Cibola Burn, which was book four in the series, and what will make up the majority of Season 4 of the show when it comes out sometime in 2019.

There are tons of cool moments in the book that I'm really looking forward to seeing on screen, especially considering how well they've adapted the previous three books. Even though it seemed a little unusual at first, I'm really, really liking how they've been threading the books together for the show, instead of making discrete breaks at the end of each season like is typically done with adaptations like this. That means some characters appear much earlier than they do in the books, some others stick around a little longer, and while the major events all still happen in pretty much the same order, some of the build-up for the next has already begun before the previous has been fully resolved.

Next up, Nemesis Games, book five in the series...
