Subject: Death's Angel   PostPosted: Thu Mar 26, 2015 10:58 pm Reply with quote

So in a recent random lot from eBay I received a sort of "bonus" ship that the seller said they didn't have a deckplate for. It appears to be a 4 masted galley called the "Death's Angel". I hadn't heard of it - just wondering if anyone else has?

Edit: 900 posts! Smile

Nope, as I said it's a 4 masted galley, not a flotilla.

The name sounds vaguely familiar, like it's been brought up at some previous point in the distant past (relative to the game, at least), but I can't find any direct info.

Do you have the physical ship in-hand, or are you just going by what the seller has told you so far?

If it's not a custom mock-up it could be some long-lost prototype. Either way, post a picture.

Maybe you're thinking of the Death's Anchor (as vosarnath mentioned) or the Fallen Angel.

I've been busier the last few days and I still have to check the ship for the set symbol.

I do have the ship in my possession, but not while I'm typing this unfortunately. It's one of those things I keep forgetting about and then I log into MT and go "d'oh". I'll try to remember to take a pic of this thing.

Try sending a message to Old_Man... It may have been a ship in the bottle (no card and Old_Man only has 2 of them). If it were it is a pity it got taken out of the pack.

I don't think it's a SiaB because it's a 4 masted galley, whereas the SiaB's are 4 masted ships of this design. Also, the SE's in boxes from both ROTF and F&S were all of that design as well.

I checked for the set symbol, but there was no symbol nor a collector's number on any of the parts of the ship. Confused

Wow, we posted at the same time in different threads! Shocked When's the last time that happened?

It should be working - I'll see if I can try it again. Don't get your hopes up because it's not of the best quality. Embarassed

It's very dark, but I can just barely make out the shape of something on the sail. It almost looks like a dragon of some sort, or some other mythical creature?

You must have good eyes - I can't make anything out from the picture!

Again, sorry for the terrible quality pic. I'll make sure to take another soon and hopefully post it here by the end of tomorrow.

well, with those sails, it's definitely a Barbary Corsair ship... there were very few 3 or 4-mast ships of that type after the BC set... Templar twas only a 2 mast galley.
