It's been a while since I've even played. I think the last person I taught was my former roommate. My fiancee used to play, but I don't know if she remembers the rules so I might have to reteach her when I move out to be with her.

This week I taught five new people how to play! I had my first five-player game ever today(two were new, other two already knew how to play) and a four-player game on Wednesday(three new players and myself). All of this in the name of Pirates progress!

Absolutely amazing! Very Happy

I was just reading about the pirates in New Providence; sounds like you might have your own base of operations heh.

Saw this post on BGG. My friend and I have begun to also play at our LGS and see if we can resurrect any dead pirates.
I may try to also set up some schedule events if I can find some people or advertise at the store about it. This person seems to have established a weekly thing which I probably couldn't do but a monthly scheduled event might work in my schedule.

Great to see people attracting new players to the game!

Just taught a new player on Christmas Eve. Very Happy Hopefully we'll play again, but not sure yet.

Anyone else bring people into the game this year?

My 6 year old. The measuring, dice roll, ability modifiers, and flavor text are great for him to read, learn some simply math and abilities.

My 13 year old kid (that's old enough to play with his friends, and gave him some ships to let his friends use if he can get them interested, so hopefully some of them come over and can get into it, as they love board games.

Two guys from work. One has a 10 year old boy who I think will enjoy collecting cards, baseball, football, but it's in his blood, so this should fall into that category. We also PS4 game together. Him and his kid, with me and mine should make some good games.
The other guy from work is an old Magic player. So I just floated him some cheap duplicates to get him interested in table top gaming again, and see where it takes his mind.

Very Happy That's great to hear about! So happy you've gotten some people interested! Feel free to post updates on the games you play in Battle Reports.

Kinda forgot to make a post here, but I think I talked about it a bit over Christmas break somewhere on the forum.

We taught a new player who REALLY caught on quick. Using great strategy skills to outsmart even the seasoned veterans in our group! He went out of his way to find a set of rules online and study them.

He really enjoys the more historical ships, we let him choose some duplicates from our stuff and everything he chose was from the first three sets.

Even through him a spare Roanoke.
