An expensive, yet deadly, Spanish crew. If a ship with Inquisitor aboard wins a boarding action, all of the enemy crew dies. There was a previous Inquisitor in Crimson Coast, Blanco, and you could kick sand in his face. With this Inquisitor, you'll be running for your life!
Boarding parties aweigh! You can also use his Black Mark ability to bring another ship to the Cursed faction.
Strategies and game play:
Inquisitor is a combat crew. You could use his Black Mark to bring a treasure runner like La Santa Isabel to the Cursed, but at 8 points (if using Black Mark) you REALLY want to use his boarding ability. Put him on a 4 or 5 master that is relatively fast, and find an enemy crew-laden ship to board.
Combos with other miniatures:
He needs a big ship, preferably with at least S+S speed. El Neptuno, La Joya de Sol (also gets +1 to boarding actions), or the big DJC ships he's linked to Cristal del Obispo and especially Santo Columba 9boards from S away). Other crew that will help: Don Osvaldo (super board), Castro's Loyalists (+1 boarding), maybe a captain and/or helmsman, smokepot to immobilize enemy.
Ways to counteract it:
Get a larger ship so you have a better chance to win boarding action, Baochuan, Guichuan or a 6 masted junk. Smokepots can stop the ship Inquisitor is on, firepots can make the ship run for home. Another way to counteract him would be a ship with crew that cannot be killed (ghost crew, JPJ, etc).
Win the boarding action, the other crew dies. Period. Linked to a couple of really good ships (Santo C, El Cristal).
Expensive, you have to board for the ability to work.
Artwork and aesthetics:
I like it. He looks evil, not foppish (like Inquisitor Blanco). His red cape goes with the red ships he's linked to.
7 of 10. He costs a lot, and he can't win the battle by himself, but when his ability works, you've basically crippled the other ship.
