General description:
Few figures have the versatility to be a strong secondary attacker and a solid tie-up piece, all while providing support for its teammates (in the form of Outwit), for less than 100 points yet Beast does it all while juggling the responsibilities of being a member of two of the most legendary teams in Marvel history (Avengers and X-Men team abilities).

Uses:
Beasts mobility, strong defensive powers, and ability to counter opponents powers make him an excellent up close and personal secondary attacker. He can stand toe-to-toe with figures of much higher value and be used to tie-up an opponents big gun(s) while the rest of your team picks off the stragglers. If facing an opponent with an annoyingly large support staff, send Beast behind enemy lines to wreak havoc by either countering the aforementioned support pieces or just let him pick them off one by one. His dual team abilities are the cherry on top allowing Beast to move without wasting one of your actions for the round or he can decide to trade damage with a fellow X-Man.

Strategies and game play:
Excellent mobility and great defensive powers, make Beast a difficult figure to pin down. His early dial Charge lets Beast get up close and personal with his opponent while a strategic use of Outwit can already have that opponent softened up before Beast comes bounding in. Beast's "Leaps and Bounds" trait gives him a full dial of Leap/Climb and Super Senses. With so much Leap/Climb, terrain will never be an issue and once Beast decides to get his paws dirty Super Senses and his early dial Combat Reflexes will make any close combat attacks against him frustrating at best. Yet even if your opponent does get lucky and Beast takes a hit, he can fall back into some hindering terrain with his Stealth to lick his wounds. And if your opponent decides to send someone after him Close Combat Expert will prove that one should not corner a wounded animal.

Combos with other miniatures:
Team Beast with figures that can help him get into a position to close with your opponents figures. A flyer or a figure with telekinesis would be beneficial in helping to close the distance. Teammates with ranged attacks and mobility can help to keep your opponents other figures off of Beast while he deals with what's in front of him. Though possessing both the Avengers and the X-Men team abilities Beast would work best on an X-Men team where he can trade damage to stay on his optimum click.

Ways to counteract it:
If you can counter or avoid Beasts strong defensive powers then he isn't such a hard nut to crack. Poison can slowly wear him down while a strategic use of Barrier can pin him down long enough to do some serious damage.

Artwork and aesthetics:
Overall the sculpt is well done and up to date, depicting Beast in the Secret Avengers uniform. The artist did an excellent job of posing Beast so that you get the feel he is about to pounce on whatever threat comes his, or his teammates way

Overall rating:
Overall I would give Beast an 8.5
