With the vast resources of crew the Pirates have at their disposal, narrowing them down to only 8 is hard going, but here are the eight Pirate crew(aside from the Essential Crew) no self-respecting Pirate captain would knowingly leave ashore:

The El Fantasma selected here is the harder-to-obtain promo version, who, in reality, only costs 3pts and not 4 - I've never seen errata yet which indicates that's not his true value(my Genny's Red Rampage also only costs 2 points rather than 3), so until then, in my view, he remains a stalwart crew for the Pirates, always providing them with a low-cost option to steal gold from an opponent. The Americans can also look in his direction if they're using the Roanoke; in fact, they would also benefit from many of the other crew listed here, which is something else to keep in mind for someone with a limited collection.

Blackheart is the original sac-captain, but the Pirates have a couple other crew who can do much the same thing if he's not readily available.

Christopher Moody is from the F&S Convention Pack, meaning three other fairly interesting crew will likely be included with him when he's obtained, but I have deemed him to be the most dangerous of the four, having both the ability to rake an enemy ship with cannonfire, and then to clear its decks of valuable crew, for only eight points.

Of all the DPotC pirate crew, this Captain Jack Sparrow had to be included, since he just makes too many interesting strategies possible.

How could you list Gunner over Calico Cat!?
Granted, they're functionally identical, but given a choice you always have to go with the original.

I'd love to see Bonny Peel on this list (instead of Moody?) since she's my favorite Pirate crew, but that capture ability can be tricky to use so it's understandable if she's left off.

Those two aren't going to get errata, since they're correct as printed. As far as I know the LE Fanty was intentionally made a point cheaper than the non-LE version, and GRR's cost of 2 is right in line with the other two +1 boarding crew from Spanish Main, Castro's Loyalists and Lynch's Noose.

The gallery has issues with them though, since only the Loyalists are listed correctly at 2. It wasn't until later sets that the cost of that ability went up (most noticeably with Bloody Jake).

I agree, but PofFN badly needed more representation on my lists, besides, having a dude whose name is "Gunner" can't be all that bad.

She was indeed my number 9, I have just personally found Moody to be somewhat more useful. Gentleman Jocard made the list at #10.

Glad to hear it!
