For the Countdown Fleet Challenge, I have constructed a fleet that can outrace, outgun, and out-carry any opposing fleets. It consists of the San Cristobal, the HMS Gallows, the Tiger's Eye, the Hai Peng, and the Le Bon Marin.

1. San Cristobal (5 mast)
This monster of a gunship just got a complete overhaul and is ready to hit the high seas for blood and glory. It sports 2-rank cannons thanks to del Nero, extra action capability and a speed boost from de Alva, reroll ability from Vaccaro, and crew protection from the oarsman. A 5-master shooting 5 2-rank shots with the probability of an EA, coupled with extreme speed (S+S+L) and a reroll, either for the EA or for a cannon shot, sends shivers down my spine.

2. HMS Gallows (4 mast)
The ultimate "world-hater" has emerged with a first-rate crew ready to bash the competition. The ship has Gunn, Myngs, and an oarsman, prepared to move faster and shoot, SAT, and protect the others. One of the game's scariest ships has been upgraded to legend status.

3. Tiger's Eye (3 mast)
The all-around player, this ship's main role in the fleet is gold runner, but, in the unlikely event of both gunships being in distress, her cannons can lend a hand. Her speed, cannons, and cargo capacity define her as a jack-of-all-trades in the realm of medium-sized ships.

4. Hai Peng (2 mast)
Straight from the Caribbean and Davy Jones' Locker, the Hai Peng is primed for gold running with great speed due to her Captain booster and a nice-sized cargo hold. Representing the greatest pirates of pirates, this ship is set to carry the fleet to victory.

5. Le Bon Marin (1 mast)
The last, but definitely not least, comes from the French faction, known for their one-masters. This ship has the explorer ability built in, which is very helpful in her line of work: gold running. Her speed, coupled with her abilities, make her a nimble and essential part of the fleet.

Hope you enjoy!

I am certainly not firm in the rules - but is it possible to add two crew members with the "limit" keyword in one fleet?

Else I understand the rationale of the choice, these are strong ships I would also like to have - reasoning for different suggestions from me in my suggested setup.

There is no legal way to have two or more Limit crew in a fleet during setup, so either Vaccaro or Doone needs to be removed.

Also, Hai Peng does not currently have a Captain aboard, so its greatest strength is completely wasted. It's still decent as-is, but there are numerous other ships available with 4 cargo that can go S+L for fewer points.
