This is an entry for brettb45's Crew Targeting Fleet Challenge

Krakens are frightening pieces, chasing down the enemy with little that can harm them. The scourge of small ships and a bane to mid-size runners. Most ships aren't safe, and if you can make the two global cancelers make sure nothing on the board can avoid their influence. I've played a game with a local group within the last year with these two, and the results were cruelly efficient. (In other words, I don't think I should do that to them all again...) Even large, well-crewed gunships have to worry when these krakens are taking out helmsmen, and extra actions. Slowing their pursuits, and hampering their firing power, and taking a captain away hurts. These beasts really show off how important certain crew are in Pirates.

(I'd also wonder if the Hag could be unloaded when all the keywords are cancelled, but I wouldn't be shocked if there's some reason that doesn't work, or if she still could be loaded for treasure by the opponent if she's dropped off.)

The original plan was to add in a ship like Swift or Gale Force Nine, to look more synergistic, but I felt using the Bonnie Liz, Treachery, and Captain Davy Jones was more efficient.

Davy Jones, notably has an ability that works even when the canceling squid duo strike on your own turns. As Davy only works as a trigger for the Krakens' +S speed bonus. It lasts, even when he doesn't work. Just be careful you don't stay locked on too long if you get a string of bad rolls on your own turn.

But with two fearsome fighters that can fight and retreat on their own terms, and two respectable gold ships, I think this fleet has some serious kick to it.

This was definitely a fleet entry I didn't see coming but the Kraken fit really well into the theme of the challenge so points for creativity. I can see how you could easily ruin someone's game with these two nasties. Even if they never caught a ship, the sheer terror and exhaustion of running away from two of them would be miserable. And then think of what they could do if they caught a big 5 masted ship (or any ship) and tag teamed it . Speed would be the determining factor when going up against this fleet; slow fleets would not do well.

The other two ships don't fit the theme quite as well but there also wasn't a lot of points left over with two Kraken and DJ in your fleet!
